  • Ashish Mathew

  • Dr Mathew is a professor of clinical immunology and rheumatology at the Christian Medical College in Vellore, India. He is also an adjunct research associate at the Copenhagen Center for Arthritis Research (COPECARE), Denmark. He completed his clinical training in India, followed by a fellowship in rheumatology, focusing on psoriatic arthritis, from the University of Toronto and a PhD on imaging and clinical aspects of enthesitis in spondyloarthritis from the University of Copenhagen.

    His areas of interest include psoriatic disease, axial spondyloarthritis and MR imaging in spondyloarthritis. He is a full member of ASAS, GRAPPA, and OMERACT MRI in the arthritis working group and the global burden of diseases India MSK expert group. He is currently the co-convenor of APLAR COPCORD. Dr. Mathew has been part of many national and international studies in spondyloarthritis and has received prestigious awards, including the PARTNER fellowship in psoriatic arthritis, National Psoriasis Foundation Psoriatic Disease Research Fellowship, and was the OMERACT fellow of the MRI in arthritis working group.
