Dr. Park is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at Seoul National University Hospital in Seoul Korea. After he received his medical degree from Heidelberg University Medical Faculty in Germany, he pursued a two-year postdoctoral study in Immunology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, USA, and Emory University in Atlanta, GA, USA, focusing on the role T cell senescence in acute coronary syndrome. Following his postdoctoral training, Dr. Park completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Florida, USA, and a clinical fellowship in Rheumatology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. He then joined the faculty of the Division of Rheumatology at Seoul National University, where he currently serves Chief of the Division of Rheumatology.
His current research interest focuses on understanding the link between cancer, infection, and rheumatic diseases with a particular focus on improving vaccination strategies for patients with rheumatic conditions His work also extends to studying inflammatory and non-inflammatory vasculopathies, including large vessel vasculitis and ANCA-associated vasculitis.
